Yup, this is true. Still, when an excuse to not throw out junk...erhm, I mean odds an' ends comes along you do not waste the opportunity. ;) Ergo, fifteen minutes taken and I now have my glasses.
So now during this brief break from work I have to surf back to check out the T-rex, but so far that Ferris wheel is great!
Prefer the colored 3D, and while Kill Zone is awesome, (from RawArt's thread) I am having a little trouble with the reaching hands. NOT a critique since I sure as heck do not know how to do these things, only it might be because the red extends several inches to the right while everything else keeps the offset within an inch. Can see if it was going for a more 'moving' effect though, only they are a little hard to see, at least from this end.
And yes, we do need a 3D glassed smiley.

I have a couple different programs for making anaglyphs now, so far the first one i got seems to work the best. I have more control over the overlap. But there is still a lot of guess work involved. Some times I think what looks spot on for my eye may not be spot on for someone else. Kill Zone does have some issues. I find if i focus on just the hands, they look good and everything else looks like crap, if i focus on everything else, it looks good but the hands look like crap. I'm still experimenting with camera placement. You have to render your image with 2 different cameras, first one then the other, each camera is slightly offset from the other, you then load the 2 images into your anaglyph prog to combine them, there you can adjust them a tad to try to eliminate ghosting. I find the ferris wheel looks best to me, in that one i had the cameras offset not only left and right but also top to bottom and adjusted the anaglyph accordingly.
I plan on doing a lot more dinosaur anaglyphs and i am thinking of making a short 3d dinosaur movie.
the basic principles of doing anaglyphs is fairly simple, its the details that need tweaking. sometimes just placing an object in the wrong place can ruin the effect, but you don't know this until you combine the 2 images and view them with the glasses. The more practice you have the better the images should get.
