Is there clear documents for pw surface2 preset?
I bought pwsurface2 last year as pw shader bundle.:blank:
Now I try and test how use it well.
(I want to learn more about each daz skin shaders,)
but I can not clear understand about each preset shader and material of Pwsurface2.
I know there is help fiels about each parameter of shader. with opening the documents,
I struggle with skins. I know need to adjust them , then try and check. it is not problem.
and I know some shader preset can work, just need to adjust by myself for many case.
but hope some actuall examples pic , with the value which adjusted perfectly for ds 4,,,with lights,,,

But when I apply preset materials Seductless(V4).dsb and Seducltess.dsb
on surface of genesis figure, ds return erroer message,
can not find V4SmplLimbsM.jpg etc.. I skip , it return strange surface.
so these preset can not use without other product?
it seems same about Arburnflow(Annika Hair.dsb) and ArbunFlow.dsb.
can someone guide me about these preset?
(and I feel disapointed why daz document did not tell me, I need other product
if hope to use every preset. before I get pwsurface2,,
I was so looking forward to get this shader and try them,, before,,,,
but now,, I feel lost something,, .)

I have the same issue where it can't find textures. I do the ctrl click method to apply the preset so it doesn't look for the textures. I think it's ctrl click and then you pick ignore for the material settings instead of replace.

The file V4SmplLimbsM.jpg comes free with the V4 base as far as I know. I have it, and from your image, it looks like it has been found as well. The UV Mapping is obviously wrong, since the copyright notice is appearing on the figure, and that should not be part of the UV map.
How are you working with this shader?
I load a base Genesis, then apply a skin, then apply the shader. Is that what you are doing?

I checked log file, then actually, there are jpg files in my runtime ^^;
but it is so frastrated every time serch many jpg form runtime texture, milworm in V4, and tell it ds.
ds ask me again and again ^^; if I locate one by oen,,,
then ,, after I apply, "Sedecutleess V4", (file type materiall) (with "stop asking" )
genessi (v4 uv map) turn to coffee color skin..i like coffee color skin,, really,,
but,, is it real color of Sedecutleess skin?

I think you can fix that buy changing the UV map settings to V4, or whatever the correct setting is in the surfaces tab.
I personally don't ever use the default textures, I just apply the presets to get the effect they offer. But even then sometimes it does the same thing as you show, but it is an easy fix. (unless you discovered something new :)

it is because,, Sedecutless.dsb or Sedecutless(V4)dsb try to load
"V4smpLImbsS.jpg" etc,, every file seems to need V4smp.
but in my runtime texture for V4, there seems not these files as same as,,,
I find V4smpLimbsM but not S,, somefiles are not in my texture for V4,,
then,,, I find there are all files which name "V4StLimbsS.jpg" etc,
they seems V4 std (standard?) files,, I downloaded before.
So that,, I open Script Edtior, then replace "V4smpl" to "V4St" by Edit,,
then save them as another name dsa,,Sedecutless_new.dsa and Sedecutless_V4_mat.dsa
then it seems work without problem now ^^;
(so I want to ask,, the V4smp and V4std are which is more high quality texture? ^^;
if V4std is not bad,, I may use these files,,,

now I itemized and reinstall V4 base, again,, but
there seems no V4SmplXXXXXB.jpg and V4SmplXXXXXXS.jpg
I checked read me, there not.
these files are bump and specular map for V4 I think.
but Pwsurface2 for ds4 preeset
Seductress (V4).dsb (material preset)
and
Seductreess Skin.dsb (shader perset)
try to load bump texture and specutar texture. (which name V4smpXXXX B or V4smpXXXX S )
So that ds can not apply bump texture and specular texture, on pwsurface shader proeprty.
and about Seductress.skin .dsb (shader preset), when I apply this preset
to Victoria 4 full body surfaces, (of course select surfaces,, )
it can not apply texture well. I checked file by script IDE ,,
it seems only load "V4SmplLimbsM.jpg" (diffuse) "V4SmplLimbsB.jpg" (bump map) " " V4SmplLimbsS.jpg" (Specular map)"
not load other part.

there are many preset it can not be apply without other product hair,
or skin, or not fit to well.
Arburn Flow(annika hair).ds need annika hair
workout(V4)skin.dsb when I apply,
it show the mesh poligon line of side body.
may need to set correctly about displacement value, I think.
Workout skin.ds only apply "Torso.jpg ". as same as Seductress Skin.dsb
so it mess up .
Quicksilver.dsb need ,another item,, I do not know

these presets seem no use for user who do not get these items still.
DAZ need to correct information of this product.
(I know many user said pw surface 2 is good shader,, and use it.for their artistic work.
I believe pw surface shader must be good shader.
But these preset are not appendix of pw surface 2.,
why DAZ sell such product, without check or clear document?
If I know these preset need many product, I think more to get it.
I know refund system, but can never forgive and never overlook,

The PWsurface2 presets were for users that had the specific texture sets that the presets call to. You could still use the presets but you would have to load your character, assign a texture set and then control click the pwsurface preset and select ignore. The shader would apply itself but use the current texture maps the model already had applied.
I agree there should be more documentation, especially for users just starting out.

I believe no new user can not find these presets need another product untill install it,
and actually, some preset I menioned above,
missing adress about texture name. they apply limb parts texture,to another surface.
This problem was brought up when the product was first released, I had only just started using shaders and was very confused by the whole thing. As nothing has been done about it since then I doubt that Daz will bother now. I did hope that when the purchased the product from the creator that they would address it but I guess it has been overlooked.

but I used daz discoutns tickets about pw surface bundle,, which can work only about daz originals.
so I feel DAZ has responsibility about this shader and presets too..

and set read me in their web site,,, about product they still selling.

ALL DAZ Studio shader presets can be applied to other surfaces without changing the texture maps currently used ONLY IF you hold the CTRL key (CONTROL for MAC users) when you double click the shader preset. A window will pop up and one of the options on that window is to "ignor maps" meaning it will NOT change the excisting textures for the ones being called by the shader preset.
If you are using the presets on Genesis, please note that it will default Genesis' UVs to V4 instead of V5 or another. You will need to go into the surface tab, select the Genesis surfaces and change the UV setting back to what it was. This is standard behavior for all presets saved PRIOR to the excsitance of Genesis. Even my own presets which were made way back in DAZ Studio 2 using Aiko3 will change the Genesis UVs to V4. I have not saved any presest wth Genesis so I dont know if it will save the UV info or not when saving off of Genesis.

I use only V4uv sets if I use V4 texture. it is so simple. if hope to use V5 texture, I change UV map to V5
then I use PW surface shader with V4uv default genesis with select surfaces .
And did you check preset already ? you just use them with ctrl key.
I know you can adjust well these preset without default texture.
But these preset I menitoned are designed to apply "other product texture" which need to buy.
so it try to load texture. then send errroer message.
are not they? and there are MATERIAL PRESET too.

As for my last statement, it was not directed at you or anyone else but just in general to the whole so far. I have seen way too many people complain about Poseworks shaders and other things when the issue is a lack of understanding on the users part. Getting good results out of these things takes time and effort. So many people seem to miss that fact.
The presets that come included with pwSurface2 do not require you have the same products that were used to make them. When you save a Material Preset or Surface Preset in DAZ Studio, by default it will record ALL information in the surface tab. The diffuse colour, the diffuse map, the diffuse strength and so on regardless of what shader is in use, the DS default or another one. When I created my presets, I did so using Aiko 3 with Sylfie or another character's textures already applied to the different surfaces. The presets do NOT require that you have those products in your runtime or that you buy them because you can bypass the need for textures with the Ctrl+Click option. On Genesis, by default, the UV Set is set to V4. So if you apply a character skin that uses a different UV setting and then apply a pwS2 preset, the UV Set will change back to the default V4. Saving presets with the default option to include everything is a lot faster and simpler then going through the custom option and deselecting all the maps. If you save your own preset as a test you will see what I mean. So for most if not all material presets you will find that they pretty much all include image maps if they are intended to be used with textures regardless of the shader used.

If you believe that a preset is there so the end user does not have to adjust anything and get perfect results then I am sorry. Shader preset are very universal.
