ADDITIONAL FIGURES TO SCENE

After creating and saving several figures to use in a scene, it dawned on me that I didn't know how to place them in a scene (set or background) together.

How is that done?

And also: How does one place several together before placing a background behind them? (If one wanted to start from scratch.)

    You can use file -> merge instead of open to add the contents of a saved scene to the currently loaded scene. Figures may be on top of each other, but you can move them after the merge.
