For me, a plugin like Thrausi in C4D to break a mesh into pieces, an .abc (Alembic) Import/Export and an update of Pycloid (allo, Philemo?)...

I think if the geoshell tool in Daz Studio could be implemented in Carrara, and then told to be treated as a softbody attach for physics purposes, then the softbody physics that they tried to give us in C8.5 would work great.

I sent an email to Inagoni not long ago about his SWAP plugin (but did not get a reply) - that can be used to replace one object with another (including things like lights, cameras etc). However it does not work at the master level, so if you have a thousand duplicated objects carefully placed around your scene, you need to "swap" them individually - not fun. So something that works on all instances would be useful.  Also as mentioned in another thread, a utility that was able to identify identical objects in the scene and consolidate them into one master object and a number of duplicated instances would be very useful to me, and a big time and memory saver.  On a related theme, if there was a way to refer to an external object file so that any scenes that used that object are automatically updated would be wonderful!

    Ditto what Dudu says !cheeky

I want to use Pycloid, but it seems to crash after messing with it too long, and some way to destroy meshes would be great!

HDR export is supported already in Octane, Luxus and Luxuscore.
With a free sw, 3 carrara renders can be turned into an HDR too.

    - Snap all (or selected) keyframes to nearest time slot

    - Rolling Volumetric Clouds

    - Iray Render

    - Set Light Cone starting point size (instead of sigularity as it is now) for Spot Lights Light Cone Effect

    - Walk/Run Designer (similar to what Poser has)

    - Export CR2

    - Export DUF

    - Various UV Unwrapping features, like proportionally populating islands to grid, UV Stretch/Compression visual feedback, UV Smoothing brushes

    Just some thoughts

yes if Carrara rigging could be exported to cr2 or duf it would be brilliant

its half there, many things come over to D|S at least rigged via DAZcollada but a bit iffy

this would be handy but not essential

in Blender it shows sewing to panels together and shrinking them to the model ,

I have a feeling Philemo's new no poke through plugin will do stuff lie this anyways ;)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9re11AEppY

    action happnes just after 1.14

Speaking of Blender, how about an 'Add Loop' tool

Speaking of Head Wax, how about a Knife tool

ha ha yes, you have a long memory, i'd probably start modelling again if we had a knife tool

I am also wondering if DAZ can work with Inagoni, digital carvers guild and Sparrowhawke3d to help in creating plugins for future version of Carrara.

yes natively rigged in Carrara stuff not FBX imports that are exported , there must be some difference,

I can get 3Dage's Kreature, and stuff I rig myself in, there are issues especially if bones are mirror duplicated but they do import rigged, on the otherhand say an iClone export or some MAX creation off Turbosquid etc imported into Carrara then DAZcollada exported is a mess.

So it is obviously the the Carrara weightmapping that is more compatible than other nonDAZ apps.

    Sewing, definitely not.

    Shrinking, should be possible.

one of PhilW's lowrez figures from his CBD set with very bad Carrara rigging

    imported into D|S all works

well as well as it did in Carrara at least which was not great

just better point out my very bad rigging Phil just had props

I may try better rigging in C8.1 which is much easier for weightpainting if I choose to rig them for use in anything

Yes, they weren't really made for rigging anyway, really just intended as very low resource figures to (distantly) fill a scene.

I only used it of an example of Carrara rigging importing into DAZ studio via DAZ collada
