Pro version is a memory hog compared to Pro Beta

Hi all, I had to revert to the beta version, because the latest pro build I installed keeps freezing my computer for minutes, when opening a scene or rendering in Iray. I don't have these problems in the Beta build, even though the folders are configured the same way. What am I missing?
