What's the easiest way to see what settings are different between two surfaces?

I've got two characters in a scene with duplicated lighting rigs aimed at them (so the light should be the same for both), and both have had the Iray Uber Base applied. One looks lifelike, but the other looks "flat," like a mannequin that's been dipped in paint. I want to find out what the difference is. I've been through the list of Surfaces Editor parameters several times, and so far I haven't found any difference between the two.

Is there a better, faster way to compare two surfaces other than scrolling down the Surfaces Editor and scribbling down the state of each setting and selected map?

Select both surfaces, then scroll through the parameters looking for those with their value given as <?> or a blanked out image thumbnail.
