Daz & Multiple App Workflow Tutorials
Hey guys, I've been meaning to post here for awhile, but in posting to so many other places I never got around to it. I've released a number of tutorials that go through the process of improving Daz figures and working in a multi pipeline industry. I use Cinema 4D as my hub app because I love it and there's not many detailed tutorials geared for it, but these tutorials are great for any modeling and animation package.

In this six part series I cover exporting a Daz figure into a 3D package while keeping all the things that making Daz such a great jump off point; things such as the skeleton, facial poses, and clothing, and textures.

In this six part series I take you throught the process of using the new Brekel Pro Face to add facial animation to your character using those morphs we got from the last tutorial.

In this lesson we do some preliminary for MotionBuilder. I discuss point caches, audio sync tips, pose morph cleanup and creation, file saving and organization techniques, and more texture mapping tips. In this five part series I cover MotionBuilder. I discuss where to find BVH files for free, and how to bring them in and create reusable libraries. Then I show you how to actually load a Genesis figure in and characterize it so you can use those 100's of BHV files on it. We go deeper covering MotionBuilder's Story tool and how it can help us set up a scene for a cartoon or film quickly, and finally I show you how to take all that back to Cinema 4D and make it all reusable and easy for later pipelines.
Cinema 4D & Face Robot Intro

In this introduction to Softimage's Face Robot, I show you the basics of how to get a Genesis figure in there so you can add powerful photoreal facial animation. I also cover a new program called Faceshift and use it to quickly create reusable facial motion capture. Once again we go back in Cinema 4D, and I show how it ties all together. I go over reattaching the head, and do and more discussion over point caches.
I hope this is useful to you guys, the primary reason I did this is because I know how limited and buggy DAZ can be sometimes. I wanted to show that there are many other programs that each do things better than others, and if you use them all together you can create stuff that breaks the mold and doesn't have to look like a stock Micheal or Victoria model or animation. There's more coming next week, I'll be finally covering texturing and sculpting; so we'll be able to completely forgo the default skins if we want or even add our own touch of flair to them.
