The punky set is so amazing that I would like to have it for my Kids 4
Is anybody out there who has it running in DAZ?

    You mean this one?

Since it's made for K4, I would expect it to be.

hehe Maybe she'd be sweet on Trotwood :D

If you mean the one Torby linked to, it should be. You can read the ReadMe files for products before you buy them at Renerosity. The readme for Punky says that it is NOT Daz Studio compatible because of the Poser materials, but the file list only has regular textures and no material presets(.mc6). It even has .ds files listed, so I have no idea why the readme says it is not DS compatible. It should work fine.

This has got to be one of the strangest lines I've seen in a ReadMe...

Not DS Compatible ... Can be used in DS
,but will require adjustment of materials.

It just means the vendor did not create DS materials so one would have to set specular, gloss and so on manually to get the right results in DS. Some vendors only create for one platform and most will put up warning like this if they didn't test and adjust their product for the other.

The problem is, that generally when something isn't compatible...it means that it doesn't work at all. Not that 'it doesn't have customized material settings'. So in one sentence saying it isn't compatible, but still can be used, strikes me as very odd.

The only problem: I can't give some objects the glossy metal effect. There are pose and props files but no texture map for them.
Do I have to import something anywhere in the editor options (diffuse color, specular color ... )?

Yes, you could set colors, specularity and reflections...but there is an easier way. Use a metal shader preset.

This set has several metals and chrome...

And there's some more metals in this set

Fisty (a DAZ PA and fairly active forum member) had a set in the Christmas giveaway a couple of years ago, it can be found on her site...

FistysShaders1DS.zip http://blackraven3d.com/sponsored/fisty/freebies/ (it has a gold and silver set)

Thank you very much for your help and the links! It works fantastic - and all so cheap!

By the way: Where do I install the folder below with the "png /.ds" and "DAZ Script ASCII" files within?
