Enchanted Island, Paranted vs Instances

There are two folders with parts, one named parented and one instances. They seem to do the same thing however when I use something from either folder. For instance (no pun intended,) when I load the gum, it loads in the same place and neither become 'parented' to a statue when the statue is selected prior to loading. Anyone see what the difference is between these?

AFAIK Instance is used when one wants instances of the same mesh, ie to duplicate it several times in a specialised way.

I could be wrong though, I often am.

The Parented folder they are all parented to the ground. SO when you load them they are automatically parented and you don't have to do it. The instance is just a normal prop that isn't parented.

When I loaded the parented ones, they didn't parent to anything.

Edit: just retested and they did parent to the ground, so user error...

As a side note, it only seems to work if the ground item is selected. If one has nothing, or something else selected other then the ground, they don't parent. A bit non-obvious (to me anyways.) If using preloads, they don't work. The gum item I was using for testing doesn't parent under any circumstances I can find. The whole 'parented' concept doesn't seem to get one much so I'm not worried about it. I just was trying to identify what it was suppsed to do. Tyvm for the help :)

It is a nice set with some nice lighting presets.

It just occurred to me that the Parent presets might serve as a good example jumping off point if someone were looking to create their own presets for items loading parented. So in that case it might be useful :)
