Iray and nVidia GTX-1060

If I understand the forum threads I've read, Iray won't work on an nVidia GTX-1060 graphics card unless I upgrade to the newest version of DS 4.9. Is that correct?

I'm using DS 4.8 Pro.

    Thanks for confirming that.

Well, phoo. Looks like I won't be using Iray. Oh, well.

If, for some reason, you don't want to use 4.9.x you could always keep 4.8 as your release version and download the ebta version of 4.9.3.166.

Richard, let me see if I understand what you're saying.

I can have both 4.8 Pro and 4.9 Beta running on the same machine without conflict.

I can set up a scene in 4.8 using the content management there, and render it in Reality in 4.8. Then, if I want Iray, I can pick the scene up in 4.9 Beta and render it there.

Yes - though if you don't choose to use Connect using 4.9 is the same as using 4.8 anyway.

    Okay, I have another question.

My system has two hard drives. C is big enough for the OS. So, DAZ Studio, with its enormous 330G content folder is on D. How do I get 4.9 Beta to see the content folder of 4.8? Right now, it isn't, and I'm not sure how to redirect the path.

I put 4.9 Beta in its own spot on D drive. Should I just load it into the same spot at 4.8?

Edit>Prefrences>Content Library tab, click the Content Directory Manager button, and use the Add... button to select the folders under the different Format headings. You may also want to use the Edit button to move the Connect library, even though you aren't intending to use it.
