DS Update Not Found

Hello.

In a discussion with a DS help tech because DS was crashing frequently I was told "I see you are running Daz Studio 4.9.2.70. This version is out dated. You will want to install the latest upgrade 4.9.3.166. You can find this in the Install Manager under the Ready to Download tab. It should be listed under Product Updates."

However, the update does NOT show up in the DIM anywhere at all.

Is there a way for me to get DS to update itself?

  • You should be able to download it manually from your product library on the site, and drop the file in where DIM looks for downloads.

If it isn't showing up in list look under your hidden files. I've had where they showed up in there before. Most of the time it shows up right though

If you are logged into the Store, you can find it in your Product Library here:

I like this idea. Seems easy. Do you happen to know where DIM looks for downloads though?

Nope. Thanks for trying to help Frank but not there.

Thank you WandW. I see a DS 4.9 there. How can I tell if it is the current one? It does not specify 4.9.3.166.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. That's weird. I clicked the green button to install DS and the DIM opened up but DS does not show up to be installed. Not even under the Hidden Files. Nowhere to be found.

Click the Download Filtrs button - make sure that software of the right type is checked. If it is try checking Connect Installed too - that should be fixed in the current version of DIM but in the last it had a fit of deciding that DS had been installed with Connect (which is impossible).

The available download will always be the most recent general release.

If DIM isn't working, you could download the installer manually, using the green download button and install it. However, I assume that doing so may not record the update in DIM. I don't use DIM, so I can't say what implications it might have.

Thanks Richard. In the downloads filters I have DAZ 4.5+ selected - among other things - and the the Connect Installed is checked too. No sign of DAZ 4.9.3.166 I have a DAZ Studio 4.9+ showing in the Installed section but I am assuming that that is the one I am currently running.

Yes. Do you have 64 bit software, for Windows or Mac as the case may be, selected in Download Filters?

Yes. I just gave up on trying to get it to show in the DIM and I downloaded and installed it manually. It worked fine. I was afraid to try it before because I wasn't sure if I would loose all my setting and such. But, everything worked out fine. Thanks to you all for your attempts to help.
