Exporting an obj with surfaces help
Hi, I have built, using primitives in daz, a spot light made from different mesh with emissive surfaces apllied to it, to look like a led torch. Not because is any use as a light, but only for visual purposes. So I have different meshes, with diffrent surfaces applied to them. Nickel, Rubber, Emissive . . I tried to export and blend all together as obj with daz, and it works. I can reimport the obj as a sinlge mesh and I'm happy with the result. But, even if is possible to select all the diffrent meshes and reapply all the diffrent surfaces, it woukld be a lot better if I can save those surfaces when I export and blend everything in the first place, Those are iRay surfaces, by the way. Any way to do that in Daz? Thanks.

OBJ saves only a very limited set of material settings (in the .mtl file that has the same name as the OBJ). It won't carry all the shader information.
Ok. Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure that I managed to explain what is my goal, but . . there is any other way to do it?
I'm wondering if using the DS 'bake surface' function might not be an option for you. this sort of paints the current textures on the object, and you can save/apply that new texture as an image texture, rather than procedural. it has limits ( no free lunch...) but might be useful.
