How to update Gen 4 figures with .bat files from zip?
When I installed my Gen 4s into Poser on my old computer, they were in .exes and it would then run an initializing program to update the figures. I had an update program it would remind me to run every time I installed a set of morphs, and that would update the figure to make special places for those morphs, and everything was nice and neat and organized.
Now I have a new computer, so I downloaded my products again and this time the base figures are in a zip file with no exe to install them. I don't have any trouble with where to put things, I know that drill. What I need to know is how to get those .bat files to update the figure to accept new morph sets like Creature Creator, Hiro, etc. When I load morphs right now they all just pile up in a jumbled list and there's no separation (i.e. Eye, Eyeball, Nose, Mouth). So figure updating has changed and I need to know how to get it to work.

Just go to \Runtime\Libraries\Daz in the folder you isntall to (which must not be a protected OS folder, like the application folder) and double-click the DzCreateExPFiles-figure.bat file to run it.
That is the process I have been following, and I now suspect there is a permissions issue with my installation of Windows as my folders are coming up as Read Only in properties. Troubleshooting that now.
Where is the folder?
My installation path is E:\Product Files\My Poser Content\My Daz3D Library. But I just discovered today that when Windows 7 has a blue square in "read only", it doesn't mean that it's turned on. Which is wacky, to me, but at least I know that my folders allow writing. So it's not that. For some reason it's just not initializing when I run the batch files.
I just reread your openign post - is the problem morphs not loading at all, or is the problem the way they are(n't) grouped?
Be sure you don't have more then one install as this can confuddle Studio.
The problem is the way that they aren't grouped. I may have more than one installation of them by now, I've been frantically copying things here and there. I'm going to completely delete my Daz content folder and start over...I've been told that I need to move the !Daz folder into the Geometries/DazPeople folder before I run it, too, which is counterintuitive to the way that it unzips, but that seems to have worked for someone else so I'll try that too.
That's definitely wrong.
