I recently got to try a really cool postwork tool called 'Sketch drawer' at www.softorbits.com
(http://www.softorbits.com/photo-to-sketch-converter/)
It's something I got to try through "GiveawayoftheDay' and was really pleasantly surprised with the lovely results!

It's not just a sketch plugin- its a standalone app of course, and it does batch conversions.

There's all kinds of fantastic settings from the brush, to color, to line thickness, to texture.

Since there is no pwSketch for DS4.5.... perhaps this is the new alternative? Works for me :D

Below: my original pic, and the sketch pic... I love how the sketch settings i chose change the whole feeling of the picture!!!!!

The postwork art world never has enough of these kinds of tools.... >_<;;;

    i collect postwork tools when i can! Not always conveniently gathered in a huge program like photoshop, but then again usually these small standalones have a ton of extra cool options that big things don't always have. Not that i can say, not having photoshop or anything.... but the closest to sketch that i ever got was pwSketch.... and I miss it awfully....

    This is the next cool thing for me! ^_^

    I know there's another kinda sketch plugin??? but its in my wishlist :P

    Thanks for the heads up on this, I'm off to go check it out.

    Belovedalia, you may be thinking of Filter Forge. It has some pretty nice sketch filters.

    YES, did think of filter forge but couldn't think of the name >_<; its something I also want someday but the price is just way too high for me....

    Filter forge is pretty awesome. It's 60% on sale right now, but that's still $60 for the basic edition.

    Edit: But I'm also loving that picture at the top of the thread. Sketch Drawer is definitely something I'm going to put on my wishlist.

    Does anyone know if Sketch Drawer goes on sale? Thanks.

    Thanks for the fotosketcher link. I decided to download it and try it out on one of my recent images. Here's the result in 'Cartoon' mode. The original is posted for reference :)

    Very cool!

    I also remembered that Paint.NET has some sketch filters like "ink" that work very well. It's an extremely capable free app (there's also a lot of free plugins for it) that I've been using for years for almost all my raster needs:
