Clothing layer ordering -hero underwear on the outside?

I don't need to do this YET, but where do you control what item of clothing sits on top of which?

I'm accessorizing wardrobes and sometimes want to change the order that clothing sits on the figure.

Where are those settings or are they permanently baked into the props/clothing?

There is no simple built in way, it is a matter of either fitting clothing to clothing instead of the figure or using geoshells to push a piece of clothing above the surface of other clothing.

Yeah cause Daz seems to know that underwear and socks go first.

So that's got to be a setting somewhere, unless it goes by Metadata sub-catagory.

If the underwear item has a smoothing modifier (or you add one) you may be able to get it in the right place by setting the Collision item to the piece of clothing you want underneath - but this only does a good job if the underwear item touches only those parts of the person already covered by the outerwear item. And it may not work with all poses.

No Studio has no idea what the conforming item is, it is simplly doing what the setting for it tells it to do.  Computers are just overblown calculators and the programs that run on them are long and complex equations (dear technoheads it is an analogy, don't nitpik).  The more complex the equation the greater the chance of errors slipping in.  The moral of that analogy; whenever you see "Smart" in connection with a computer device or program be afraid, be very afraid.
