I never never never NEVER understood why they did this... all of the other Gen3 models are still available as base models and also their morph packages.

They especially still sell the "Preschoolers Morphs" for the Millenium Kids:
    http://www.daz3d.com/preschoolers-morphs

The only single package that got removed was the same morph package for the Millenium Teens. I was told that it was due to "lack of space" in the shop, but since the shop is still full of many obsolete items, I just don't get it...

Just have a look on this, they still sell:
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-skin-texture-1
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-skin-texture-2
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-skin-texture-3
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-skin-texture-4
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-skin-texture-5
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-morphs

Each for $9.93, and then they sell the entire bundle of all 6 items:
    http://www.daz3d.com/international-beauties-maps-and-morphs

for the same $9.93, but for the whole lot (!!!)

If anybody from DAZ reads this - please consider to rather remove the 6 items above (if you really need that space... because anybody who wants one of it, can just buy all 6 for the same price below), but bring back this (for the Gen3 Laura/Luke models) essential item...

It think it was once this entry:
    http://www.daz3d.com/catalog/product/view/id/2768

    Please, please, please...

Speaking of which, are Luke/Laura morphs available for Genesis (e.g., Gen3 Shapes, GenX, etc.)?

Unfortunately no. None of the various older Daz kids are supported in that way. You can auto fit Kids 4 clothing to Genesis but can't apply their shapes or characters using GenX. You can't even autofit clothes for the Millennium Young Teens(Luke & Laura) or Millennium Preschoolers(Matt & Maddie).

I have read that there is a work around for applying Kids 4 characters to Genesis, but I have not found any actual instructions for how to do it.

I don't have a link or know the exact procedure...but from what I've heard/seen it was a fluke to be able to do it and the updated GenX causes it to fall flat...it did involve using the autofit clone, but that's about all I can remember.

I do have a 'serviceable' Matt/Maddie autofit clone...it wasn't easy to make and isn't near 'prime time' quality...more of a proof of concept than anything else.

But there is a thread on making autofit clones

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/12955/

So if you want to take a stab at starting the clone process...there you go.

Well, I just gave it a try a submitted a ticket to DAZ sales... explaining that it was/is odd to delete one single item where all similar items for the entire remaining Gen3 "model fleet" are still available, that there are many third party freebies & stuff that actually require these morphs, that the item already exists (and therefore doesn't involve man power and man time to create something new) and that I (and some others) would love to pay money to DAZ in order to get it...

So now let's see if DAZ gets interested by the "we want to pay money to you" bit... ;-)

Money, a language all it's own! Thanks again.

It depends on the ratio of time/effort and reward. And since we have been told that the switch to the all-singing-all-dancing new shop that we all know and... that we all know was done because the new shop is so dead easy to use and maintain, it sure will hardly take 30 seconds to copy some old web page back to its proper place and edit 1-2 single lines of a download path to the shop database.

If it's priced like the Pre-Schoolers then even one single purchase would be nearly $10, and that for 30 seconds will be... wait! Hey! That's a wage of $1200 per hour, and still $840 if we all happen to be in the PC!

DAZ, can you hear this? Over $1000 per hour! Profit ahead!!

    ...just kiddin' ;-)

The problem are characters that are built using the DAZ morphs and geometry files that are encoded against the DAZ ones, in order to protect their copyright.

All of this becomes useless once you can't obtain the original files any longer. And for that reason it is very reasonable to keep the base meshes available in the shop for good - and, as matter of fact - they *do* keep all of the base figures and base morph packs in the shop, even for Gen2! It's just the YoungTeens (aka Laura & Luke) morph package that got deleted. And there. is. no. reason. for. this. period. dot.

I got a very nice reply by Britney from DAZ Help, she will forward it to Marketing and recommended that I should place the request directly on the Forum as well. Since this thread here is partially a chat about the whole situation I thought I would rather open a new one with the entire request than adding more details here...
