Import mapped directories: list is empty

I have a huge problem. My old computer died, so I had to get a new one. I managed to copy the entire DAZ Studio folder onto an external drive before the old computer finally drew its last breath. It was version 3.1.something. At first I tried to find an installer vor v3.1, but they've all been pulled off the net, so I had to install v4.5.
Now, because what's left of my 3.1 isn't an actual installation, but merely a copy of the installation, all the registry entries are missing, and the software refuses to start. Moreover, Studio 4.5 won't import my old characters, props, scenes, poses, hair and whatnot. When I try the "Imprt Mapped Directories" option, the list that comes up is blank.
How can I get my old stuff back? I don't want to buy and install everything again. Is it possible to just copy and paste some folders, or am I doomed?

    OK, I figured it out, but damn me if I can explain what I did, lol...
