Genesis 3 characters skin too red/orange (Translucency)

I'm having trouble figuring out how the translucency works.

Whenever I buy a new Genesis 3 figure, either here or at Renderosity, it comes with default Taanslucency parameters that make, on initial test renderings, the skin always be too red/orange, as if the character stayed too long taking a sunbath. It's never like the promotional pictures so I suppose some tweeking must be made

For isntance, for this particular character there is a Translucency map (somewhat desaturated) with a strong red colour (0.39/0/0) and Translucency Weigth 0.30.

Can someone enlight me on how to work with Translucency dials to have a somehow natural skin? I still want to keep the translucency feature, I understand it mimics interior body tissue light scatering which adds realism, but I can't understand why the default values produce such wrong effect.

Thank you.

What version of DAZ Studio are you using. There was a change in how some of the settings were displayed when DAZ Studio 4.9 was released, so content made for that will render differently in DAZ Studio 4.8. There is a thread in the Commons that has some information on how to change this. The same would be true of content made in/for DAZ Studio 4.8 being rendered in 4.9.

    I'm using 4.8

That might explain it. Would you be kind enough to lead me to that thread in Commons?

Change the SSS Reflectance Tint from light blue to light yellow. The light blue will be something like (RGB) 236,255,255. Try something like 255,250,226.

    Quite the opposite fastbike1.

I tried that and it looks much better with a subtle blue tint (0.72; 1.00; 1.00).

Apologies, didn't note that you were using 4.8. The thread daywalker linked was about correcting product in 4.9.

Hi, I have the same problem but I'm working with 3delight and AoA subsurface shader on DAZ 4.9.

The skin of my characters is too red/orange, I'm trying changing different parameters without success. Can anyone give me an advice?
