Daz Subdragon and SSS Issue

Daz Subdragon and SSS Issue

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue with the Daz Subdragon and using SSS on the wings in Luxrender?

I am running:

Daz Studio 4.7.0.12 Pro 64bit

Reality 4.3.1.16203
CPU-No Acceleration

Luxrender 1.6.0 Build 16132

When rendering the Daz Subdragon with SSS on the wings, there are black holes in the mesh. These aren't reversed normals, as the wings render fine when SSS is unchecked. There are no alpha maps on the wings. The holes are also present if you use Glossy material and have the Transparency checked, but instead of a black hole it is a bright yellow hole.

I have rendered this scene with just IBL.

I have rendered this scene with just the Sun light.

I have rendered this scene with just a Mesh Light.

Hole is still present in all three situations.

It is the result of the front side nd back side of the wings being to close.  Adding a bit of displacement to the surfaces fixes the problems.

Great suggestion jestmart, I'll try that.
