How to have DAZ 4.8 and DAZ 4.9 installed on the same computer?

Hello,

I'd like to install DAZ 4.9 on my computer but I don't want to uninstal DAZ 4.8 because I'm unsure how 4.9 will behave with my old NVidia cards.

But I feel the need to install 4.9 because there were changes with the Translucency paramenters with the new version and every new content I buy has some Translucency issues in 4.8 so I tought that having both versions would help me.

Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

Keep the 4.8 general release and install the public build (beta) of 4.9.

But isn't the BETA version incompatible with older GTX cards (980ti)?

I thought it was the other way round — you need the current version (whether Public Release or Beta) to use any of the new 10-series cards. Your 9-series card should work with any D|S version, including the current Beta.

4.9 does have a higher minimum driver version requirement than 4.8, but it still suports supported cards (I have a 750Ti here).

    Ok. I'll try BETA. Thanks

    "I have a 750Ti here"

Got you beat, Richard. I have a 660Ti (the rarer 3 GB variant) in one machine and it runs 4.9 just fine.

I have 4.8 on my C drive and 4.9 on a 2nd internal drive as my new graphics card is one of the 10 series and won't render Iray. Both work OK.

Well, I finished updating to 4.9 (latest version) and now it doesn't seem to render at all.

The NVIDIA IRay View doesn't work and when I press Render it doesn't either (black picture).

Could this be a driver problem? I don't understand drivers. If my drivers worked for 4.8 why don't they work for 4.9?

    EDITED (and Solved)

Yes, it was a driver issue.
