Request to PAs regarding female shaved legs and other parts
I do understand that small blemishes are part of normal skin and the most realistic skin textures contain these in plenty. However, I would like to request that PAs using photo references consider whether the inclusion of shaving rash is desirable or not. Shaving rash is most often seen (on females) on the legs, armpits and around the genital area. Naturally, shaving rash may be desirable in some skin textures, however I would ask PAs to consider offering skin textures without shaving rash as well as "with shaving rash". Alternatively could PAs show closeup promo pictures of the legs to indicate whether shaving rash has been removed or not, or perhaps state this in the product description.
I assume that ladies shave their legs and other parts to make them more attractive. I think they would agree that shaving rash is just as unattractive as the hair they are removing. Since many of the renders that people make of females are designed to show the beauty of the female form (note this may well be idealistic and even unrealistic), it would be useful if PAs would offer skin textures with no, or less shaving rash.
I accept that blemish free skin is unrealistic and less useful for making images which are photorealistic, but excessive shaving rash is, IMO, ugly and makes making a realistic image which is also beautiful (according to the arbitary standards of today) more difficult.
So, PAs, please continue to make beautiful and realistic skin textures with realistic (minor) blemishes... but please offer them with less or no shaving rash unless you are specifically aiming for that effect.

What's an image with shaving rash?
Do you have an example?
I advise you not to google for images... most of them are pretty extreme and not for viewing after a heavy meal... if you catch my meaning. However here are a couple of images of the kind of thing. In the skin textures I've seen the rash is usually relatively mild but the skin has many small red/purple dots where the razor has scraped the skin. I don't want to give actual examples of skin textures with shaving rash as this would be unfair or unkind to the PA. Just check out the attached images.
Oh okay, I get your meaning now.
I haven't encountered this since most of my figures are fully clothed at all times, but I do have some beach stuff(s) coming up.
really comes down to what they have access to in textures which are not cheap I've looked at some of these sites that offer hires photos of models it is also why some figures created by different pas sometimes look similer in certain areas as there may not be many to choose from so unless they have access to their own models it is to an extent limited to what thet have access to I can understand your point though if they can find a model who has photo sets of differences like this hasn't bothered me as I like the extra detail of blemishes but I can understand if you want something different if it is possible
Phew, you must send me your email address so I can send you a packet of punctuation marks (hehe). No offence, just pulling your leg!
I do agree that good quality skin photo references can be very expensive. Some of the best skins I've ever seen were made for V4 by the artist Danae. They contained lots of skin blemishes like veins, freckles, slight discolouration etc, however the skin was still beautiful and the renders were exquisitly realistic. I wish Danae would make textures for g3f.
LOL, I am just the opposite, clothes are an afterthought in my renders, LOL
to the OP, it;s usually an easy fix in photoshop
Agreed, Dublin was the very first one I transferred over with UU3D repaint!!!
I have tried fixing the problem in the textures themselves, lots of work with "spot remover", with some success. It is time consuming. However, I'm sure that the PAs are much better at such manipulations than I am and hence my request that they either remove ugly blemishes or preferably offer with and without. The latter option would even allow the user to blend the two textures for even greater usefulness. Most PAs provide make-up overlays and sometimes optional tattoos or hair features, so why not offer some level of optional blemishes and skin markings like freckles and maybe scars or other small marks?
