My First Year Learning 3D - Thanks Everybody!

I just finished my first year playing with Studio, and wanted to thank everyone who's helped me figure this stuff out. I know I still have tons to learn, but I couldn't have gotten even this far without all the patient answers to what probably seem like rather stupid newbie questions. Thanks also to the folks who have created the content, both free and commercial, and to DAZ, for providing the tools to work with this stuff.

I can't wait to see how much I progress in the next year. To infinity and beyond!

As long as you don't split your infinitives like they did in Star Trek, you should be OK :-)

    Best wishes.

Nope. I don't split hairs, either. Gotta have 'em first, I guess.

You young whipper snappers got it so easy, when I started 3D we didn't haz no Smart Content, we had to search for our stuff in the content library. And all this Triax Weight Mapping was just a dream, we had bad bends on our figures and lived wid it. Autofit and tranfer toolz, bah! Wern't no such tings. Grumpy old man mode off.

I love seeing new people enjoy 3D and I wish more poeple would post about the FUN they have. We need more Nice threads. Thank you for this one.

Today is my one-year DAZiversary, so I just wanted to echo riftwitch's sentiments above. I've learned more and gone farther in the past year than I'd expected (spent a lot more too, but that's another story...) thanks to the help, support, and feedback of so many here on the forum. Still have a loooooong way to go, but it's a mountain that now seems at least somewhat scalable. :)

Now I'm at a place where I can "pay it forward" to an extent, and I welcome the opportunity to do so. The past year certainly its ups and downs here at DAZ3D, but overall IMO the positive far outweighed the negative. A year ago there was no DSON, no Michael 5 or any of the other major new Genesis characters, a less effective AutoFit tool, and DS was slower, to name a few. Not to mention all the great new PA products, and (while there were certainly growing pains, a few of which persist) I think the new website is better overall as of now than the old one was a year ago.

Looking forward to another great year! :)
