Creating Vertex Groups in Modo for Rigging

I modeled a simple folding screen in Modo Indie 10.2, set it up with polygon and vertex selection sets, made vertex weight maps, and divided my material zones into the two halves of the screen. When I switch back to DS and use the Figure Set-up Panel add my .obj file, I don't get any vertex groups. I can't find anything in the Modo documentation about Vertex Groups, so I'm not sure what this might be if it's not a selection set, material or weight map. I also tried using my material selections to make regions, but those didn't work for rigging.

What do I need to do in Modo or DS to get my selection sets to show up?

    Weight maps won't carryt o OBJ, nor will vertex groups as far as I know (OBJ supports polygon groups - Parts in modo - and surface/material groups). You could try using FBX from modo, but I wouldn't hold out gerat hopes.

  • My model is broken into parts in Modo, but maybe too many things grouped together?
