Problem with textures for Raw Art's Lekkulion Female head Tails

In the first pic, the tails are in standard preview mode and are distinctly different from the base texture. I checked that the texture applied was the same as the rest of the body. In the second pic, a test render of the figure shows no textures at all. The surface properties list shows that both the rest of the model's skin and the tail's skin have the same numbers and colours as well as texture codes. What's going on and why?

Also having the same issue with Sachra horns :x  They prop appears untextured, and if you apply the mats that come with for iray, it may show up faintly on the model. If it doesn't, even going into the surfaces tab and making sure things are in place does nothing more than create that faint texture which then renders white. Any work arounds? Any idea why? I've dug around a bit but no solutions are forthcoming. Going to try putting basic subsurface on rather than iRay and see if that does something.

Nope, not even basic AoA subsurface shaders change the outcome. Tried the old Genesis supersuit shaders, specifically Armor- Banded Gold. The result is third pic....

Managed to sort it out. Applied the items in a different order. For some reason that helped.

Hover your mouse over the content icons and check what it says in the popup. Some of these Materials presets may actually be Hierarchical Materials presets. This means they include materials for parts that are parented/fitted-to/geografted on to the figure. If you apply materials in exactly the right wrong order, you can end up setting the proper materials for the whole figure plus extra bits with one preset, then immediately changing it to something that doesn't match with the next.
