Help what is needed?

I use DS3 and DS4.5 and every time I go to the download area I never know what I should be downloading
There are DSON core, Poser Companion and Legacy files. Which files do I actually need?

    Legacy for 3 and core for 4 if I recall correctly.

    You may also encounter products that have "Poser Core" and "Studio Companion" files. For those, you need both.

    Everyone needs Core, regardless of whether they use Studio or Poser. You only need Companion files that have the name of the program you use.

    DSON is for DS 4.5 or Poser with DSON Importer; Legacy is for earlier versions of Studio or Poser without the Importer.

    So I assume Legacy is for DS3 or DS 4 but not for DS4.5? I say that because I can see those files on Genesis items so I assume they must be for DS4 in that case.

    Legacy will be .daz files for scenes, instead of .duf which DS4 and earlier can't read. A legacy installer may have files that work in DS3, but I wouldn't count on it - in some cases you may need to save legacy .dsa materials preset from 4.5 and apply them to the Poser figures/props to get soemthing you can use in DS3.

    Correct. The Legacy downloads contain the .dsa; .dse; .ds and .dsb files which DS3 to DS4.5 can read. The DSON core downloads contain .duf files which only DS4.5 can read.
