Hi
are there keyboard shortcuts for next/previous frame in Carrara?
I can define keyboard shortcuts for next/previous Key frame but I can't find the option to define a shorcut for just the next or previous frame

also is it possible to set the default file type for saving or exporting?
any help would be appreciated

no idea about the first, I do not use shortcuts, never remember them
but
yes to the second, not sure how without looking, not on computer at moment, but mine always renders to sequenced png 1920 x1080 by default
I know I set it in preferences.

Preferences is definitely where you'll want to look for the keys and such.
I have created a blank scene with nothing in it but a default camera and light, but it stores all of my preferred render settings including resolution and file type, etc., and then I saved that under My Objects, without being in a sub folder. That way when I want a new scene, it's right there at top level. I also store my Character template scenes (which contain light rigs) in there as well - before getting into the sub folders.
