Medieval Times....moving along
Ok I'm kind of stuck. Usually I want to do something and then if I can't I'm stuck in that place rather than moving onto something else...so now I'm trying to get unstuck or find a way to just let it be and do something else. It's hard though lol. I'm anal that way.
1) Looking for a good way to light windows and torches. I presume these will have a yellowish-fire type tint. I've searched for tutorials but either come up with 404's or one where there images were missing so I couldn't tell what was going on.
2) Looking for an outfit for a wench. I did find some at rendo but they look more modern to me.
3) Looking for a carriage suitable for the times. I've found a more modern one but wanted to try and keep period specific if at all possible.
Thanks for your time.

Wenches ? first do textures for MFD, 3rd texture for PoTS dress 4th is peasants for MFD
Thanks. Seeing MFD made think. I may have that one already
MFD is a very useful and vesatile dress, can be made into all sorts of things. Those texture sets are on page 7 of my site. (link in my sig bar) They are not extremely high res, but quite usable. I mostly do quite crowded scenes.
I will take these a little out of order. Starting with #2, Choholes textures are excellent and I have all the ones she mentioned. You may also want to take a look at her tutorial on texturing. I also use these two texture sets from the store, both are for the MFD and are PC items:
http://www.daz3d.com/villager-clothes-for-v3-s-mfd-expansion-packs
http://www.daz3d.com/once-upon-a-time-cinderella
For the lighting, I would suggest a combination of a point light and ambient surface settings. The windows could probably be done with area lights or strong lights outside the window. I would suggest the following tutorials:
Uber Environment 2
Cameras and Lights in Daz Studio
Daz Stuio 4 videos
You might also consider Dreamlight's Light Master tutorial. It is not cheap, but it is worth the price. http://www.daz3d.com/3d-light-master
Sorry, I can't help with the carriage.
Here's a good tutorial on area lights: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/14536/
For the carriage...are you looking for something like this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kobelwagen,_Jean_Le_Tavernier,_nach_1455.jpg
If so, here are some options...not exact, but similar:

If you use DAZ Studio it's hard to go wrong with UberPoints by Omnifreaker. These give you point lights (360 degree radiance emitting lights) that take gel maps (so you can make a fire pattern) that have fall off (so you can make them extend further distances without overamping the brightness).
See my tutorial on UberPoints from the link in my signature below.
examples of UberPoint in action:
This scene http://adamtls.deviantart.com/art/Village-Bedroom-DS-Glamor-204079002 uses an off-screen UberPoint to simulate a fireplace and another in the candle at the bottom left of the picture.
This one http://adamtls.deviantart.com/art/Adventure-Classics-04-Redux-173248510 was lit solely with UberPoints. 4 of them to be exact and yes, they're exactly where you'd think they'd be on the scene (the dwarf's spell, the top and bottom of the mage's staff, and the mage's wand).
Wow I am truly overwhelmed by the responses. I'm at work replying from my phone but will definitely look into everything tonight when I get home.
Thank you very much! They are nice. I did have MFD for Genesis but I did not have PoTS. I picked it up tonight however and downloaded the textures from above. They will give me a lot more versatility in my scenes.
And I will most definitely look at your tutorial on texturing. I'm just starting into texturing so trying to get my feet wet. It's more like trying to find water in the middle of a desert but hey I'm getting there. LOL. I'm starting small like trying to texture a crate and redo a wall.

I will be sure to check out the tutorials and BTW thank you for the heads up on Chohole's tutorial. Even knowing it was there I bypassed it and didn't see and took a second look so I'm definitely going to do it.
Hi...thanks...I looked at those but really they might be a little too fancy. I'm was looking for something simpler and plainer.
Thanks. The first scene is exactly the kind of glow I'm looking for. In my envisioning, the scenes are dark and gritty. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use the gel stuff and make it work. Also, I clicked on the tutorial you mentioned and get page can't be displayed.
Hmm, it's working for me. I'll probably repost it tomorrow on the new forums since it's on the old forums.
Any time I see a post that points to forum archive I get page not found. So sometimes I can find a post related to a question I have but it won't come up. I get that quite a bit but its only on those.
