I read about this in my local paper and had to go see.

CyArk is out scanning all kinds of historical sites to make sure they are preserved somehow before they are destroyed. Apparently, the founders were inspired to do this after the Taliban destroyed all the Buddhist sites in Afghanistan.

The 3D Viewer shows the point cloud... and somebody (no idea who) has contacted them to find out if offering their scans up in Wavefront OBJ format for those crazy 3D Hobbyists might be possible...

This will ready help cockroaches figure out what all those lumps of rubble used to be, when they inherit the world... till then, sounds interesting!
