Membership Renewal Discount?

Hi - I saw the 30% discount on Platinum Memberships. Am assuming that if one is already a member, this will apply to the next automatic renewal (rather than creating an entirely new membership). Can someone give me confirmation (or refutation) of this?

    I believe the discount is for people who weren't members only

    which then would have been the same discount that members normally would have gotten. So that all makes no sense.

    it cost $30 bucks to start your membership if you want to go monthly.

    Or its $99 for the first year.

    The second year was supposed to be $69, but they charged you $99 via the store and you had to request a refund for the difference.

    If both members and non-members can buy for 69 via the store, then active members should still be able to get the $30 difference on renewal.
