    First of all, you are running an older version, but leave that for now.

    On the Desktop, click (single click) on the DAZ Studio icon, then right click, and choose 'Run as administrator from the menu.

    You also need to enter your DAZ Studio PRO serial number, you will find that in your My Account > My Serial Numbers on the site here. You MUST run as administrator, or DAZ Studio will not be able to write to the disk, and your settings will not be saved. When you run DAZ Studio, the blue bar at the top of the screen should say 'DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro'.

    Once you have your serial number, go to Help > Register DAZ Studio and enter it there, then EXIT from DS, and restart it. Make sure that it says DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro at the top of the window.

    You are not giving enough information here.

    When you ran DAZ Studio, what did you load into your Scene?
    Where did you try to save the Scene to, please give the path you were trying to save to?
    Did you use Save As > Scene inside DAZ Studio?
    Did you get an error message of any kind?
    Have you looked at the bottom of the Log File to see if there were any errors from the last session (the one that crashed when saving)?

    Did you add DAZ Studio as a trusted application to your AVG anti virus software, I think it may be causing problems?

    Please answer the questions above, it is difficult to help you if you don't do that.

    1 - I load a scene with just a character I was working on months ago

    2 - The same place in C, where I used to save that with no problem.

    3 - I always saved my scenes in C with no problem, but as I said some posts before, I tried to save in Users, etc, My DAZ 3D Library > Scenes, and it shuts down the same
    way.

    4 - Yes, the error message was just some posts replies before

    Thank you a lot by the patience, but I'm a quite desperate. I've been using DAZ for two years, always working nicely, and somewhat that's this wall I'm hitting against to, with a job's deadline coming

    OK, let's try this.

    Do NOT load a previously saved scene, start DAZ Studio, load a single figure (Genesis, Genesis 2 or V4 or any other). Do not add lights, cameras, clothes hair etc.

    Try to save that as a Scene using Save As > Scene. Save it to your DAZ Studio Library folder.

    If that doesn't save, STOP your AVG anti virus, start DAZ Studio, load a figure as above, and try to save again.

    I know that you added DIM to your AVG list, but did you add 'DAZ Studio' as well?

    AVG stopped, DAZ shut down again.


    I added DAZ folders and DAZ software after.

    My OS is Windows 7 ultimate, but it was never a problem before.

    What did you load into DAZ Studio, and did you try to save it to your DAZ Studio Library folder, is that when the crash happened?

    I added DAZ folders and DAZ software after.


    After what? Are you saying that you reinstalled DAZ Studio and your content again after the crash?

    You need to look at the Log File. Restart DAZ Studio, go to the very BOTTOM of the log file (Ctrl+End) Go back up around 100 lines to where it says '‘+++++++++++++++ DAZ Studio 4.6.2.118 starting +++++++++++++++++' (or whatever your version number is)

    Look at the lines immediately before where it is starting the new session. Are there any error messages? What does it say about saving the Scene, can you see where the Scene was being saved, and then DAZ Studio crashed?

    You really need to give full answers to these questions, or we will never get this sorted out. Please try and answer FULLY.

    1 - As I said, I was just working the way I used to work with this scene, with no glitch at all.

    2 - Yes.

    3 - It's rocket science to me, I just use computer to draw.
    If you want to be drowned by the very last 100 lines or so of this log file, that's it

    That looks like the log file from your CURRENT session. What I need to see are the last lines from your PREVIOUS session when DAZ Studio crashed, the current session will tell me nothing.

    What EXACTLY did you load into the Scene? I asked you to load the bare Genesis figure, and then try to save the Scene, did you do that? Please don't just answer YES, I need to know what you loaded, and then tried to save.

    I realise that this is annoying, but it is something that has happened on your system, not DS 4.6

    Have you changed anything on your system since last using DAZ Studio? When did you start using AVG, did you have it sunning before?

    Sorry, I didn't, but I did it right now and tried to save the bare Genesis figure, and it crashed again.

    I didn't change anything on my system, I had to disk format my PC, but it was ages ago, and I worked with DAZ after that smoothly. The only thing that came to my mind is that I had some freeze glitches, the technician just did some performance improvements, and installed AVG. The AVG is the only new thing. The log file saved when it crashed with the bare Genesis figure is that

    I get that too, but I also get

    That is where DS loads Genesis from the Startup Scene, you may not use that, but it should still show Genesis loading. Every time you load DAZ Studio, a new entry to the log is created, if you want to see what crashed DS, you need to go back to the PREVIOUS session, not the one that just loaded. Do you understand that now? Go back to where you loaded Genesis, and let's see what happened after that.

    After I saved the Scene file, I exited DS, then restarted it again, and the following was in the log:

    I was hoping that you would have some message in there that would tell me what crashed DAZ Studio when you tried to save. Perhaps it never got to write the log before it crashed.

    Since AVG is the only thing that you have added to your system since it all worked well before, I would suggest disabling it entirely for the moment till we see if that is the cause. Some of our other tech minded people will be here shortly, and they may be able to help more. Disabling AVG for now is all that I can suggest.

    On a 32bit System, as We now have found out, the Issue is the OS is running out of Free RAM to do the file saves. There is no way to fix this other than lower the amount of content in RAM, (in the Scene) before the save is done.
