Llasa Apso?

I need a Llasa Apso, but I do not see a Millenium Puppy morph that comes close (the heads are ok, but all the legs are too long to make a good "small" dog)...
Anyone have any ideas for a near Llasa morph, or another model that might make a better base? Does Mil Dog have small dog morphs?
I will be doing the hair in Carrara so I will end up covering a lot of the dog.... Legs and head shape (and ears) seem like the most important features...
Thank you. Appreciate any suggestions...

Scale the legs on the Y axis?
:ohh: Oh... Is it that simple? It won't mess up the rigging or whatever? OK, will try.
When I wanted to make a border terrier I used the Jack Russell pup morph as a bas and then played with parameter dials to get nearer.
Cute-looking little thing, but i've got to ask — how much dog is there under all that fluff? If you're using Carrara hair, it might not matter all that much getting a precise lookalike for anything except the paws, face and muzzle, as long as the body parts are more or less in the right proportions.
I tried just scaling the legs but that completely borks the mesh...
I do not see a Jack Russell morph... Is that 3rd party, maybe?
**edit**
I see Preditron's Lo-Res dog has a Jack Russell morph... I will try that...
Yeah, that's what I was hoping... LOL
But, I need the dog to be first very long haired and later with a puppy cut...
DAZ's puppy doesn't seem to have any leg-length morphs, in fact all the dogs seem to be the same proportions.... "toy" dogs really have squatty legs.... Maybe I can figure out how to smooth out the mesh after scaling..., If the Lo-Res dog doesn't work out....
Try scaleing each portion of the leg, individually ,just match all the legs ,cause you can get them quite short scaleing without borking them up .
Actaully when I looked it up it is called the Parson terrier. It's in Classic canines 2 and in the mill dog bundle
I would love it if you could post an image in this thread when you have finished with your Lhasa Apso. My best bud is a Lhasa as you can see from my avatar, and I have been looking forever for a model that looks like my Muffen.
Awww! So cute!

I'm thinking that now with the appearance of LAMH, someone might take on the challenge of creating a longhaired Lhasa Apso. Although, my preference is for the shorter hair. Imagine taking care of all that silky fur every day! My hair creating skills are sorely lacking so I know I won't come up with one anytime soon.
Thank you Kera! I had wanted both Toy Dog and BosTer, back when they were available. Happy to add to the animal collection! :-)
I ended up going with Predatron's Low-Res Dog... I'm not sure it was the best choice, but he seemed to have the body morphs I needed.
I started with an undercoat of short wavy fur in Carrara.
I'm adding in the longer hair section by section (starting with the ears and forehead)... The *really long* hair seems more trouble than it's worth for my project, so I'm going with the medium length hair.... And since I don't really know what I'm doing (and I don't even own a dog to use as reference), this is going to be an exploratory project.... I'm sure I'll need to stop and start over a few times so I'm saving versions often.
Here's my progress so far...
You're definitely headed in the right direction. Here's a close up, in case it helps you along.
Ooh! Thank you... I was just trying to figure out the chin and neck... Longer than I thought...
If anyone else wants to join in...? LOL! No rules. We can have a puppy party! :D
When you get to the tail, you should probably keep the fur very long regardless of the rest of the body. We've always kept Muffen's body fur short but the tail very long.
These pics are SOOOOO sweet! :) Thank you for sharing!
I still have a long way to go, but I think I'm just about finished with the head....
Ahhh, so sweet! Can't wait for the continuation.....
Got a starter tail goin on... But I'm starting to have problems posing him, I think because I tried to scale the legs. :/
That is one cute tail! You can almost feel how silky soft it is. I can imagine it'll be difficult to perfectly match the legs proportionately to the body. They do tend to be unproportionately short but that's one of the things that are "cute" about Lhasa Apsos. I tried it too, and failed miserably.
Aww, thank you for all your feedback in this thread Mari-Anne... I'm posting my "final" render with this pup before I abandon this path.... Carrara is just not liking what I have done with Low Res Dog's legs, and is starting to act up... Also I have applied so many levels of smoothing so he will no longer look low res, that every pose and change has slowed down the interface (thus negating any benefit of being low res)... Add to that 3 different dynamic hair "models" (one each for head, tail, and body - although the head and tail share the same shader) and the figure is getting really hard to work with...
Normally I would go back and work on the shape of the head to make him "cuter"... I think It's better that I start over on either Mil Dog or Mil Puppy, maybe someone has made leg morphs for them...
Your little fellow is very cute, Holly and it was a great try. Please do post what come up with if you try the MilDog or MilPup. And lots of good luck!!
