DAZ Studio will not start

Hello

After Download and Installation of over 1000 files from DIM to DAZ Studio the program did not start anymore. On the loading screen, on the point "building interface", the program crashes an I can`t start it. I have tried several times. Then I uninstalled Studio, SQL and DIM, cleaned the registry. Reinstalled Studio, SQL automatly is installed after Studio installation, nothing helps.

Do anyone knows what the problem is, maybe a dll or something ?

Greetings Ralf

    Hi

    could be  many reasons,

    antivirus, firewall,, old cms data

do you clean the ROAMING? (users/appdata/roaming/daz,,,cms,)

there is a script on daz install location to restore 'default' interface

Look and see if log.txt recorded the error.  On a Windows computer, it's located in C:\Users\<your login name>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4

  • Does it crash, with a daz crassh rproteer dialogue or an OS crash dialogue, or does it just sit there? How long have you left it if it just sits - installing 1,000 items will give it quite a lot of work to do as it converts the DS 4.8- database entries from Install Manager to DS 4.9+

It should be in the application folder - C:\Program Files\Daz 3D\Studio4 for example.

I have now uninstalled the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 file, and the program starts, but not allways. So the Problem is not fixed.

  • It rsets the layout and soem other options, as I recall, so should have fixed your issues if those were to blame. Try installing the Public beta - does that launch OK?

OK, if both are affected that sounds like a CMS issue rather than an application settings issue. you could try uninstalling postgreSQL, removing (to a safe location, don't just delete) C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\Daz 3D\cms, reinstalling PostgreSQL, and launching DS - however, that will completely clear the database so you will lose any personal categorisations and have to reimport metadata to get your isntalled content listings back - but first let's see if that even works.

That fixed not the problem !

  • I don't know what else to suggest. You may need to open a Support Ticket.

do you try to start the DAZ "as administrator"?
also try to check some different compatibility run (windows 7,8)

Don't run DS as admistrator - it can lead to permission issues.
