Problem with saving and re-opening scenes.

I saved a couple of scenes using the Genesis figure and they open fine. I saved a few scenes using V4 and M3 figures and props from Poser content that I installed in DS 4.5 and when I open them, there is a message that a huge bunch of files couldn't be found and what I get is a figure made of blocks. No figure, no texture, nothing. No props either, or at least no textures on the props. It appears this is only happening with Poser content, but it is happening with all of it apparently.
I'm not completely new to DS and I've never seen so many weird problems. Any advise is appreciated.
Also, it takes a couple of trys to save scenes to file.
Thank you,
Robert

That happens when studio does not have or can not find the data files it needs. For example, I have old files from years ago and they open fine right now. But if I were to uninstall things and that removed the data files or if I were to move the data files from where the scene is looking for them then I would get that same thing. Sometimes if you load the products separately it will recreate the data file and then when you open the scene everything is there.
This is a completely clean install on everything. All the content was installed separately, using the Daz installers or by copying and pasting Runtime to Runtime.Everything is installed to c\:User\Documents\Daz3d\My Library as recommended, unless there was a proper default file.
I appreciate your quick reply!

Scenes created before or after the install? And saved as scenes or scene subsets?
Scenes created after the install Saved as .duf files on a Desktop folder. I clicked "save" not "save as."
I'm not sure that they will save with correct file paths and so forth if they are saved outside of studio files. I know that they use to not. My guess though is that the data isn't being found because its saved outside studio. Is there a data file in the desktop file? Try just loading a couple of the things in the scene. That should be enough to get them added into the data files. Then open the scene again and see if those have turned up.
That was it! I saved it in the "Scenes" folder in the My Library folder and it is working fine!
I appreciate your time. Thanks for the help.

Glad we sorted it out!
Thanks for this explanation.
I had the same thing.
I saved my scene in .../User/MyUser/DAZ/MyLibraries
>> When I load this scene I get nothing but cubes.
I then saved my scene in .../User/PublicUser/DAZ/MyLibraries
>> Loading this scene loads it better ... at least the Genesis char is loaded (not the cubes) ... but it seems my materials are looking funny on my loaded char ... seeing clouds on my skin as if it is loading some cloud picture on it.
However, my render looks fine... very strange.

Can you go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats, and post a screenshot?
