Is it possible to convert of scene files to the new Studio? That is, ones with the .daz extension? If so, any pointers would be appreciated.

Just point DS4 to your DS3 Content folder/s in the Directory Prefs. It will load them as long as it can read your Data folder.

TIP: Some OLD items just will not load in DS4. They have errors that the older versions could overlook.

Oh. Not good, the Data folder and content folders would be needed for the Scene files to call. I do not know anyway to just use the Scene file by itself to get it all back. Maybe another knows more than I do. I hope another can help you.

In the past, when users had got rid of the 'data' folder by accident, it was possible to rebuild that folder by using a dummy scene in DS3. All you had to do, was load the same items as were in the original scene (no posing or placing necessary), save the scene, then that would re-populate the data folder. The saved scene could then often be opened.

The log file gives a clue on what you still need to put in a dummy file to make the data folder correct, the error message is always 'Cannot find file for storable ......', and then the item it is looking for.

The .DAZ format relies on the data folder, so the only way to ever open them again, is as described above, using DS3. If the data folder is gone, and if you cannot rebuild it, then the .DAZ files in themselves are useless.
