Does SLI help render time

Was wondering if two Nviida 580's SLI would help for faster render times in DS4.5?
Thank you.

No, 3Delight does not use the Graphics card at all, it only does CPU rendering.
It may help with other things like the OpenGL viewport, or some of the OpenGL render options, but definitely not with 3Delight
Thank you for your quick answer. Is there any add-in or plug in that takes advantage of the GPUs, be them SLI'd or now, and makes as good of renders as 3Delight?
Octane renderer used the GPU only as far as I know, and there were plans for a DS plugin : http://render.otoy.com/
Luxrender can also use the GPU, along with the CPU, through the Reality plugin. It is an unbiased renderer, I think Octane can do both.
Octane requires I Cuda GFX card if I am not mistaken?
Octane will work with more than one card...but it won't work with SLI. They have to be set up as dual cards, not SLI. And the 580 is an 'acceptable' card for Octane.
As far as rendering with the GPU...don't leave out Blender with Cycles. There's a pretty nice scene export script and the start of a materials library, all done by mcjCasual.
Here's the thread about it...

There are others but, unlike the three mentioned, there aren't any plugins for them or attempts at material conversions. Out of the three, Reality/Luxrender is the most mature.
I use a Gigabyte GTX 570 and have used a GTX 560 as well. Both work great with Octane.
I use the GTX 570 and my wife uses the GTX 580. Both are great cards
