Did the weekly freebie requirement change?

I haven't been hanging out here much lately but, I just noticed an item in the freebie section that seems like it would be the weekly free item, but requires either a platinum club membership or an additional purchase.

Is this the new standard now?

If this has been asked before, sorry... I neither saw the notice or got the memo...

    Yes, you figured it out correctly. that is the new standard. Was announced last week, so you aren't too far off.
