I'm using Firefox 19 and have been noticing occasional highlighted words within product descriptions on this site. These turn out to be links to adverts.

Anyone else experiencing this?

This has happened to others - at some point you have downloaded a plugin that highlights key words and makes them into links. You should be able to find and disable the item in Tools>Add-ons, unless it's actively malware in which case it may just switch itself back on and you will need to try something like Malwarebytes to remove it.

Thnx for the fast reply. I'll run Malwarebytes to be sure. The only thing that's new with my version of FF is Conduit - which is now disabled.

I'll keep you posted on any outcome.

    Thnx again

Several addons have gone to 'bundled' crapware...many/most of the Youtube downloaders are some of the worst offenders...there's a couple of others that were very useful that have gone that way.

Disable all your addons, except AdBlocker and NoScript. Then, one by one turn them back on...until you find the one responsible. Then uninstall that one and send the creator a long nasty complaint about it...because the 'stealth' or 'yes' install option is at least not nice...
