DIM recognizes content in three groups -

    1) Available for download -- everything you've purchased but not yet downloaded with DIM *
    2) Ready to install -- items downloaded with DIM and not yet installed
    3) Installed -- only items installed by DIM

    * Some content not yet converted and queued, and DIM doesn't (currently) do plugins, software, bryce or carrara content.

If you just want to download the most recent purchases, click on the "Sort Order' drop down and select "Order Date: Recent First" and then select the individual items you want to download.

If you download with DIM and then delete the zip files from the download directory without using DIM to do the install the items will show up in your 'Ready to Download' list again.

    ...

Added some emphasis. DIM can ONLY know about the files that it has processed itself. So, as far as DIM is concerned, everything you installed manually from DAZ or any other site has not yet been installed.

However, as noted above, not all content has been updated to DIM yet, so cleaning out your runtime and starting over may not be your first choice here. The good news is that DIM will handle updates for everything it does install. There are a couple of videos on this from when DIM first bacame available. There is one for how to handle using DIM over existing content, if you are interested.

I've gone off in search of said video, and haven't run across it. Could you please post a link? I just want to understand how to make DIM aware of what was previously installed so it knows it doesn't need to do those over.
    Thanks!!!

Unfortunately - no such process is available.

If DIM didn't download and install the items they will sit in your 'Ready to Download' tab. You can select items in 'Ready to Download' , right-click, and then click on 'Hide Downloads' if it bothers you to look at them.

There is a link to the videos at the bottom of the Install Manager page on the forum:

Sorry about the link, I don;t know why it is so big. You can also find them yourself on Youtube.

OK, thanks for the link to the video. I was hoping that there was a way I could synch them, but it seems not. I'll probably just uninstall the lot, do the upgrade to 4.5 and let DIM do the rest. Thanks again....
