A Little Help with Smart Content

This is for people who are having problems getting products to show up in Smart Content.

If you've tried re-importing the metadata, but the content still won't show up, try looking at your troubleshooting log; it may tell you that the files couldn't be located (should be at the very end of the log). This may mean that the metadata is not referencing the correct path to the files for your product.

Example: The Victoria 5 Elite Ponytail Hair won't show up in Smart Content, even after re-importing the metadata. A check of the log file shows that the files associated with the V5 Ponytail couldn't be located:

Asset : People/Genesis/Hair/Victoria 5 Elite Ponytail Hair/Poses/Default Hair Pose.duf could not be located
Asset : People/Genesis/Hair/Victoria 5 Elite Ponytail Hair/Poses/OverShoulderL.duf could not be located
Asset : People/Genesis/Hair/Victoria 5 Elite Ponytail Hair/Poses/OverShoulderR.duf could not be located

Note the path DS is expecting: "People/Genesis/Hair/Victoria 5 Elite Ponytail Hair"; however, when I check the install of the Ponytail, the path is: "People\Genesis\Hair\Victoria 5 Elite Ponytail"

What happened? I'm assuming at some point during the conversion to zip format, someone changed the install location but forgot to update the metadata.

Fixing it is simply a matter of correcting the references, either by manually editing the dsx metadata file or creating your own metadata.

actually, there are (not few) some products install meta-data with wrong path.
you may find many report from user in mantis bug tracker.

some products changed name, so someone made mistake to write meta-data (I think, they use text editor,,)
and point at the location where there is not .

I think DIM has not problem (even though it is beta), but simply zip meta-data still offered with many mistake.
but in DIM, it shown as "Smart", so user confuse.

if we can not find items in smart-content.we need check one by one in zip .

and when daz release new version up meta-data,, we need to remove and unistall ,user customized meta-data.
and reinstall, by DIM , import the meta-data. (but DAZ sometimes, offer wrong meta-data when version up contents ^^;)
who can remember, which was wrong meta-data, and which was true?

I believed new DIM zip has correct meta-data (if show as smart),, but I am betrayed again.

If daz employ me, to check meta-data,, I may do more good work %-P (maybe,,)
or I think,, if daz will send coupon ticket when user find wrong meta-data :coolsmile:
