How do I create character for M4/V4 and Genesis?

I'd like to know how I can make a character for M4 or V4 AND Genesis. I am talking about for commercial sale use here, not my own personal use. I have GenX, but for someone who doesn't have GenX how can they use the character for Genesis if they don't want to use the M4/V4 version? If I save the GenX version as a preset will that work for someone who hasn't bought GenX?
Many thanks

Are you creating a custom morph, manipulating the mesh directly, or are you using dial settings for existing morphs? The former you may convert using GenX, though users will still need the base shape for the original figure to get matching results, but the latter you may not concert. Another option is simply to create two shapes, one for the forth generation figure and the other for Genesis.

Thanks for the reply; yes, it was a dial-spun character I was going for, so I will have to make the separate dial-spun morphs for both M4/V4 and Genesis. Thank you :)

You want to create a character that you are going to sell? AFAIK, you have to make a morph that will apply to the figures. If you are going to make a character for M4/V4 primarily, you don't need Gen X yoursef. The customer who wants to use the M4/V4 morphs will need to transfer the morph using Gen X to Genesis and have the M4/V4 shapes for Genesis if they want to. If you craft it as a preset that requires GenX, then yes, the customer will need to have that too, as well as the aforementioned M4/V4 shape.

You could also create morphs for both M4/V4 and then another that is for Genesis. For instance, you could make a product that is for M4 and then another which looks the same but is directly for Genesis (without the need for GenX). There are a number of vendors who go this route.

Thank you for the reply. Since I cannot currently get to grips with Hexagon I will have to stick to dial-spun characters but with my own custom-made skins. But thanks for clarifying about the GenX preset too, I appreciate it.

You could also use DFormers in DS4. RKane has a great tutorial here for Genesis for Partial morphs:

Here's the one for his Full body morph tutorial for Genesis:

    Good luck!
