I couldn't download genesis starter essentials, download always aborted, and finally expired.

    Were you downloading manually or using DIM

    Yes a lot of us are experiencing difficulty downloading large files manually. However those using the DIM are able to do it. This is a problem that has only surface recently

    Oh good, I thought it was just me. However, I tried both manually and with DIM. Both methods always fail at 48.6%. Perhaps I should just stick with my good old Blender 3d

    Ah, did you clear your browser cache between download attempts?

    If a download fails then the part download will stay in the cache until it has cleared, thus causing subsequent attempts to fail at the same point.

    no i didnt. But I tried with different browsers, then with DIM and finally with a download manager. I doubt that clearing the cache will help at all, but i'll do that right away.

    Where is the genesis Starter Essentails installer located.???

    I have looked on my products list and cannot find it listed anywhere.

    I purchased Studio 4 Pro, but the starter essentails is not listed with all of the other files that make up that bundle.

    any help would be appreciated.

    it is located at My Account>Product Library>Genesis Starter Essentials
    gave me a bit of trouble too

    I still couldn't see it in my items list so decided to do a search on the product name and that brought it up.

    OK i cleared my cache and tried again. as expected, the download broke at 48.6% AGAIN!!! why does it keep resetting my connection for crying out loud?

    wouldn't it be possible to have the files sent to my email instead?

    I know this does not help your situation directly, but I was just able to download the full starter essentials without any issues.

    So I guess that problem you are having does not appear to be on the Daz end.

    now i'm out of ideas. what could it be then?
    i wonder why their server doesn't have the "resume download" functionality enabled

    Last night I tried to down load the same file/s without success using Firefox's downloader, that failed twice, lost 800meg from my download quota. (I suspect my ISP had something to do with it, as I was disconnected halfway thru.) So I stayed up till the early hours of this morning and installed the download manager and , hey presto, faster download and I finally got it; third time lucky.

    you are lucky. I lost 1.5GB of my monthly allocation :(

    and i still got nothing. i blame my curiosity :) making me explore other 3d softwares... i should have just stayed with blender
    and yeah i just figured out it was my ISP...weird how i'm able to download from every site except this one

    That's no good. I have downloaded a bigger file from here and I got it okay. I now know not to use Firefox's downloader. I lost a whole month's download quota, so I have only 11 months left.

    I think a resume facility should be included in the download manager, but it it works.

    There may be some setting, firewall etc that stops you from downloading from here. A suggestion try downloading one of the real small genesis files and see if it downloads 100%.

    yeah i was able to download every other file without any problems. it's just the genesis that fails. and since i'm mostly a character artist, genesis is the only reason why i'm even considering DAZ 3D at all. Now i'll have to delete hexagon, bryce and daz studio :(
    pity, i was really looking forward to see the possibilities.

    Boys...Girls...

    After 8 hours of trying to download Genesis SE via the Download manager, it kept failing - annoying between the 60-70% stage.

    Eventually decided to switch off my firewall/anti virus (I'm using MicroSoft Security Essentials).

    Behold! It downloaded straight through and installed.

    It might be just a coincidence on this occassion - still, it worked, so try it!
