Question on Andrey Pestryakov's products

edited December 1969 in The Commons

I have been reading the forum about how much resource it takes to render Forest and Forest Superior. I am under the impression that if you load the full preset you can't delete most of it & just keep what you need (I know some large scenes even if you load everything you can delete what you don't want).

Also, could someone please explain to me a bit about each product? I am understanding Forest Superior is just added stuff to Forrest, details, most, etc. and that for the ground and trees you have to have the original Forest?

It sounds like with Forest Element, it is things in smaller pieces, like separate trees, etc. It also says it has fall colors. If I get this set, do I need Forest for the ground or anything? I need to be able to load individual pieces so I'm not sure I even need Forest but I didn't know if it was required.

Also how is the autumn set different if there are autumn colors in Forest Elements?

I'm thinking for basics I could just get Forest Elements and Winter and have the basics for all season?

Also, does anyone know how long the sale is on? I was going to buy MM items and saw this was on sale and I think I'd rather do this but I can't afford all the parts.

Thanks

Forest Elements needs Forest for the textures. I looked it up in the DAZ Install Manager, right-clicked in the file column and got a list of stuff that's installed. No textures are included it looks like. So I guess you'd get the autumn textures only if you already have Autumn as well. I have all the sets so wouldn't have noticed when I loaded up a tree. The grounds come from the other sets as well and they're labeled as such.

Before this past year I had a machine that had onlly around 780megs of ram to use when I'd load up Studio so I know where you're coming from :(

I too have almost the whole series now, but not yet the autumn pack. It is neccessary for the brown/yellow shades of the 'Elements'.

I love Pestryakov's products; they are worth every cent!

2nd attempt, this forum does not like the ipad. Anyway, I appreciate the help, but does anyone know how long the sale is? I'm not sure if I want to buy just a few or all of them and would like to know how much time I have to decide.

In Forest Superior added new objects on the scene: the bushes, ferns, more grass, a little stump, texture of moss on fallen trees. Forest Superior also includes no direction UberEnvironment 2 Lighting. For Forest Superior required Forest.

Forest Autumn contains objects of the Forest and Forest Suprior only with new autumnal materials and materials separately. For Forest Autumn required Forest and Forest Superior.

As you rightly pointed Forest Elements contains separate elements of the previous packs. Also included in this pack added a big scene for Daz Studio where each object can be turned off individually, but grass.
Forest Elements I created especially for those who already have the Forest, Forest Suprior and Forest Autumn. So I includes in requirements these products to reduce the cost Forest Elements.

Forest Winter contains objects of Forest and new objects. Therefore for Forest Winter required only Forest.

Forest Elements does not have winter elements since it was created before Forest Winter. Maybe later I’ll do some winter elements and inserting them into the Forest Elements, maybe.. DAZ Studio users can use individual trees of Forest Elements and apply winter materials.

The discount will last until March 13, 2013.

Now I'm thinking to make an independent set Forest Elements Box, without the required products. But the size of its files will be around 1GB, because that hires textures of all packs have a big size.
