Well, it looks like both fantasy and sci-fi have had their day during March Madness. Is it too much to ask that the Super-hero genre have it's as well? :)

Do people feel there is just no market for super-hero stuff or is it just too difficult to make?

I haven't heard anything. But then again, I'm under NDA, so I wouldn't be able to say even if I knew. wink

Back story time - the original Supersuit's creator moved on and wasn't around to make the second iteration. Some design changes were made because it was felt that the original Supersuit had too many mat zones (not all of us PAs bemoaned the amount. In fact, I'm one that loves having a lot of mat zone options.) But the way the suit had been designed, it did make it difficult (and made extra work) for add-on textures.

That being said, given certain constraints, I think the second Supersuit looked good (despite the fact that it didn't have as many mat zone options.) I will agree with you that it would have been nice to have extras like boots, gloves, etc., that weren't just HD morphs on the suit. But to be fair, we were just given the tools to make HD morphs for our products, and the second Supersuit was an exploration in that vein.

I, like you, hope that there's a Supersuit for the Genesis 8 crowd. And I'm hoping that IF there's going to be a new version, that we'll see more support from the PAs (because I loved how much support the original Supersuit got - but a lot of that came from the original designer.) But there's a lot of factors that go into PA supporting one product over another. Add-on sets traditionally tend to not sell as well as the base product. So, that's a factor. But we'll have to see.

I think If DAZ explored having a themed set like they do for a new figure, they would have PLENTY of customers. Like one person comes up with a base suit and then a number of people come up with their variations, textures, mrophs for it and it is sold as a Pro Bundle, Starter Bundle and base set. I( would LOVE to see that. :)

It would be great if it has a starfield as a texture for the costume, cape, even skin.

Well, unless it comes out soon...probably not. I believe there is a rumor of a new Genesis 9 figure this June. I hope not, but that is what I have heard. I would rather have an updated interface.

The source of the rumor is simply that there were 2 years between release of the previous Genesis figures. There's no guarantee Daz will keep this schedule for the next figure though.

Or maybe a cat figure. :)

What needs "improved" on the interface? It's plenty customizable now.

I would like, for instance, more buttons on each Morph dial and a drop down box on each one as well. Four total new buttons: One to make the morph go all the way to it's lowest setting, one to zero it, and one to take it to it's max setting and one to half the value of the setting as it is at the moment.

For the dropdown, a place where you can store a description and tags so that all nose morphs come up at once when searched for and not just certain ones from a certain set here and certain ones from another there, etc, as well as a link that takes you to the product it was purchased in in Daz Studio under the Products menu and the name of the author.

That's just off thge cuff. I would also like to have morphs be easier to create and a morph brush as well. :)

Actually no Genesis 9 in 2019 has been the official word. So maybe they are putting together an awesome suit for a hero/villan bundle launch....

I would just like to see some more customizable options and also the ability to change a lot of things from the Scene Tab like locking parts and specific invisibility like turning off all hair and clothes so that only the figure show, etc.

HSuit was great, but I would LOVE to see Joe Quick update his Golden Age set, ESPECIALLY the capes. he could do Dforce capes now. That would rock! :)

  • Decent capes are always good, in the two main styles - the fasten at throat type, like the current super-capes,. and the fasten-at-shoulders type like the Morpheus figure cape. The later is very rare.

Also: make belts, gloves, boots, trunks, etc - seperate things rather than the silly-looking HD morphs. Nobody is fooled by that.

Ditto. No morphs. They look terrible.

A decent utility-belt. A belt that stays rigid so all the pouches and such don't deform.

Both type of capes - clasp and shoulder (Superman-style). Multiple lengths.

Symbol area. Badge area (over the heart).

Both types of trunks - the short-pants type and the more

/Agreed.... now if only someone with some modelling talent would concur! :)

Alas, I lack skill. Dreams I have plenty of.... skill is another matter.
