So the question is do I spring for the video tutorial or not? I'm getting along, finding some issues, 3dUniverse toon hair is a bit nitpiky, but one of the tutorials on Carrara Cafe says it can be fixed, but he doesn't show how to fix it, he says just use cararra hair, but I've got two pre-existing characters that I have to keep the same.

I am truly blown away by the renders and the render time. And the grass man! The grass is stunning. :)

Personally, I think that those video tutorials are just an incredible value for anyone who wants to live in Carrara. Sure, Carrara is so friendly, that you can easily get by without any tutorials if you have enough time and patience. But PhilW teaches some really good habits to get into, and so much of the versatility of the software.
Here's a link to some sample videos from the series: Basic Learning Skills sample videos and scroll to the next post to see them for the Advanced series.

My Carrara Information thread has a wealth of links and things to read for and about Carrara. One of my favorites is the Index of Cripeman's Free video tutorials, which totally compliments those purchased at the Daz3d store. The Carrara Information thread also has links to the latest manuals, which are an excellent tool for just seeing what all you have under that wonderful Carrara hood!
True Story, man... you're really gonna love getting into Carrara. There are those little finicky strange content issues from time to time, and you'll almost (if not, always) always find a resolution to such obstacles here on these forums, and at the Carrara Café.

The second item in the Table of Contents, at the Carrara Information thread, is the Forum Threads Index of “Help!” Topics post, which is basically another table of contents leading to possible solutions. I try to index them according to what they're about, but often times, if the title fits somewhat, it's likely that your issue has been discussed there. And if not, but it seems like a good thread to ask in, post a reply to it, and those who have been watching the topic will immediately chime in with solutions for you. It's a great community!

Another thing I've been working on in there, is a Quick Links post, like this one that can help lead you through the large thread without having to return to the Table of Contents - though that, too, is linked within!

One last thing, the Carrara Information is still very new. I've just recently started making it - so it will really grow a lot in time. There are plenty of fresh topics that have come up that still need to be added to the forum links area, as I'm sure there are some older one's that should be included as well. I'm actually very busy, and just work on this with bits of spare time as I get it - as I find helping other people relaxing.

Welcome to the finest content compatible 3d animation and rendering software in the business! You'll have your hands full of fun, now! ;)

I see a "Carrara Skies - Lightdomes 2" product scrolling across the March Madness banner at the top of the store, but it doesn't show up when you click on it, and it's not in Tim Payne's store - at least not yet. Perhaps tomorrow?

Man, for those of you wanting to learn more about skin shaders, Dimension Theory's :Carraractors: Delphina is an incredible product of amazing shaders and a great explanatory bit of tutorial.
Of course, you'll need Rebel Mommy's Delphina for the shaders to work, but that's a great score, as well!
