Netherworks Hair Conversion II for V4

Says Poser only AND it says 'compatible' with Daz Studio. Also says Poser 6, 7 and Pro. Does this mean it will not work with Pro 2012 since Python structure is apparently different? And if I re-install my Poser 7 I could use the converted hair in 2012, yes?

I believe this updates it to work in Poser2012

Thanks, Silver. That says 'base' + 'Jessie add-on'. So is the Daz 'Hair Conversion II for V4 a module that can be used with this 'base' like the Jessie add-on?

I've kept an old P7 around for this purpose though I have the 2012 update. With frequent changes to Python methods I don't know if the older magnet sets are compatible with the new Python. Python methods can be very picky little beasts - it's one of my work languages.

The converted hair works in anything including DS and other programs you can export the mesh to.

That is what I am guessing. I havent tried it out in ages but you could always PM Netherworks over at RDNA and ask for clarification :)

I ran it a few times with Poser Pro 2012 and it "mostly" worked... although it's not exactly a simple procedure. You need to read the enclosed PDF very carefully and need to perform multiple steps in exactly the necessary sequence (and not always in the order 1, 2, 3 as in the Python palette... which is confusing). Once you do the slightest mistake, the scripts start to throw errors which you can't really fix/repair afterwards and better re-start from scratch.

Bearing this in mind it did work, the created wigs did fit, and since you won't use it every day and all day long, it is usable and what-it-claims-to-be.

Just two things to keep in mind:
    1) it does not transfer any morphs - if you want them, you need to transfer them manually
    2) if the original wig was a conforming "figure", the converted one will only be a parented prop.

There are instructions how to create a conforming version, but this is a bit tricky and needs editing template files.

Hmm. Sheepishly I thought I was hoping for a "one-click" transformation. I will pop over to RuntimeDNA and put my 2 cents in. Thanks for everyone's response. The clock is ticking on the 70% off sale; not sure what I'll do.

Just to make it clear (again)... the actual tough work of converting the shape is a one-click thing, and $5 is a bargain. If you have elderly wigs and want to use them with V4 - get it.

Just be prepared to read the PDF at least once entirely before you start (it's 24 pages, and one of those things that you should really afford to print physically) and then to follow it step by step. Take 5-10 minutes for the conversion, and you will succeed.

Ok, thanks. You get caught up in things that don't quite work it's hard to be creative. A shirt that doesn't want to fit right, or hair, kills a bunch of time. The older hairs can be really good in the right situations so I often like to use them.
