Dynamic materials currently rely on being somewhat flat. That is, volume isn't really taken into consideration when it does the calculations, and therefore the 'inside' of the object collapses in on itself. With that in mind, a dynamic pillow or cushion is currently unavailable in Daz Studio. Even Poser's cloth room still relies on everything being 2-dimensional.

It would absolutely perfect if soft-body physics (the fancy term for squishy things) were available in Daz Studio. For a while I've been playing around with the Bullet physics engine, which does have the capacity for soft-body collisions. Getting it to play nicely with Daz is probably a distant dream, but at the very least I can do some fun stuff with it in 3DS Max for now.

Perhaps someone better versed in Daz's scripting language can integrate it quicker and easier than I, but until then I wouldn't expect plush chairs and mattresses just yet.

There are several dynamic objects on this page:
    http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/FreebieDownload10.php
(bottom row 3rd from the left) that can work as pillows.
You need the Dynamic Clothing Control Plug-in (not the basic controls already installed in DS) to use them however.
What you have to do is set the internal pressure to a value greater than 0 (zero). An animated drape where your figure moves to the final position sitting on the cushion/pillow is you best option. Alternatively; you can set the gravity to a negative value; position the cushion/pillow under your posed figure and do an animated drape so the pillow "floats" up to it's final position.

Some more Dynamic stuff for your consideration:

The problem with the Optitex solution is the way it inflates the mesh, it looks ok for a pillow or a throw cushion, but it doesn't work well for a couch cushion or a mattress - as these are more rigid, so when 'inflated' they never look quite right because they still behave as though they pumped full of air and dont retain their orginal shape well,
This also creates a problem when colliding them with a rigid object as the 'virtual air pressure' is displaced, creating buldges you wouldnt get on a spring mattress or a sponge-foam cushion.

If they could maybe fine tune it to prevent over-inflation (preserve the original shape) and code the virtyal pressure not to displace so much, it would work much better for these things...

Im also not very happy about a physics system that shuts the end user out from creating his/her own dynamic props.
