    ...still, at nearly 600$, too big of an expense while socking away funds for building the base workstation.  At least the price of the 1070 is finally beginning to fall back to a reasonable level.  However were I to upgrade my current system instead, I'd still looking at over 1,000$ just for both the card and Octane. Add another 340$ - 350$ for the 24 GB upgrade kit and a W7 Pro OEM (my system has W7 Home ed.) and that's not very far off from what it originally cost me to build it several years ago (and I'd still have only 8 CPU threads as the CPU is a first generation i7).

    Also, how does one determmine what the geometry load of a scene is?  When I look at the Daz Logfile I get just the complete scene "weight", both geometry and textures.
