DAZ 4.5 Studio's FBX exporter CANT export models with long hair to Maya and Motion Builder!

Unfortunately this is true.

I will have to throw Maya and Motion Builder in the bin. This adventure has cost me a fortune already.

Am I forced to use Carrera instead. Just to get the morph / blends working correctly on the hair?

I have tried on the Jasmin model for Genesis. Genesis is quite a widely used model. I am surpriced and shocked that I now am forced to use bald models in the FBX export... whats going on here?

I need not describe this problem further.

When you take the model into motion builder you will get minor problems with transparent shaders and the T-stance is not straight enough to go through the automatic characterization process of motion builder.

These other issues I fixed in 1-2 hours by googling it.

... but the hair... I have lost.... I cant find any solution. I will have to assume that the DAX FBX export of models (genesis) with long hair does not work at all.

It would be great if the DAX people look into this issues and helps us DAZ 4.5 users with a quick fix / work-a-round.

Please! :)

Best Regards
Mans

Threads merged, Please do not make multiple threads on the same subject as it means people may be giving you the same answers in two different places.

I have left the thread in the DS forum, if you would prefer it moved to the Commons I can do that.

THere are some older threads around about the FBX exporter, if you search for them, which may answer your question.

    Thanks!

But I searched the other FBX forums.

Noone tried models with long hair it seems.

Maybe they tried big monsters, dragons, etc.

I hope someone at DAZ can have a look into this.

Just try to export Jasmin for Genesis and import to maya and animate the neck to see if the hair follows.

It will follow but with a big error that makes it impossible to use the exported model.
