Install Manager Problems and Suggestions
The Install Manager is a great idea! Very much appreciated however it needs more work.
1. In the middle of 2 hrs plus download it stopped working, claiming it lost network connection. I had no such problems on another machine so I wonder how come.
2. I have no idea how to get it to continue downloading and installing right away. I was unable to find any useful help to get it to continue.
HELP!!!!
3. When I first went through the download list for over 5 plus years of products I only checked V3, M3 and newer stuff since I never use any stuff such as V2 etc. Although I checked DAZ Studio 4.5 only, the choices were still offering CF items. I had to look up to see what it was Poser Companion Files (CF) and learned that I did not need to download them.
So why didn't the filter eliminate these?
I ended wasting over 30 minutes going through the entire list and unchecked them. Huge waste of my time.
Please have the option of filtering these CF files out of the downloads choices!
Then, this being my first time I clicked on some other things and my entire list that I had spend over 1 hr compiling for download seemed to be no longer checked. To say I was frustrated would be a huge understatement.
I had to start all over again. Then of course I got the problem I described in #2, so I am still very unhappy.
Now I am stuck until someone tells me how to proceed. I don't see any buttons or useful help anyplace.
Please have some help on what to do to continue a disrupted download, or install etc. !
I don't think the interface is really well done for the reasons I have explained above. Now if you already know how to use it, it may be fine, but for first timers it can be a problem. I'm glad to read that a bunch of people are sending their congratulations because their experience has been excellent. Wish mine was.
Thanks,
Dan

If it stops downloading, and it has for me a couple of times, just close it, and log in again.
CF files are not Poser Companion files, they are DAZ Studio Companion files, ie DS optimised textures for Poser content.
Why are you stuck, it is the same as any other piece of software, just exit from it and restart it.
There are numerous reasons a network connection might be lost, it could be anywhere on the chain from DAZ 3D to you.
I think it would be useful for the selections you've made to be retained if the connection is lost. Unfortunately, that feature currently isn't there. I would suggest using the filter box to narrow the list instead of going through everything one-by-one.
Are you sure these were PoserCF's and not StudioCF's? Many products, especially older ones, have a main installer with the Poser files and an extra StudioCF with DS material settings.
You can also type PoserCF in the filter box to unselect any which have been mis-tagged, but there shouldn't be many of those.
