Is it possible to install on external harddrive?

Is it possible to install DIM and DS onto an external HDD?

The DIM program itself (not the content that it installs) is, I think, still locked — at least in the current version — to install only on drive C:. Once you have DIM installed, you can go into the preferences and change them. Note that there's not just one location; if you want to move everything possible to a new location, you must look at the D|S installation location, the downloaded content installer location, the installed content location (this is where D|S looks), and the location of the CMS content database files.

Remember that DIM and D|S don't talk to each other, if you don't use the default content locations you must manually change the settings in both programs' preferences.

Note that I don't use the content database, so I'm not sure if the CMS settings are only in D|S or in both DIM and D|S.

    yes, you can,

just insert path information, on DIM or Daz

at the picture, E: is my external 1T USB connect harddisk
if you use external harddisk, be sure to connect before start Daz
also, check before start if your external harddisk always use same letter (E: in my case)

What CM said. But you have to catch it on the initial installation of those programs to redirect to your external HD--otherwise you'll be stuck unless you go through the hassel of deinstalling from your C:\ and even then, there's no guarantee. And as has been mentioned, you'll also want to make sure your data is pointing to the right locations, too.
